International Women’s Day 2023
For me, International Women’s Day is day for reflection, celebration, and recognition. A day where we can celebrate all the amazing women in our lives and especially in our workplace. At Charlie’s we take this opportunity to recognise our women’s incredible talents and achievements. We also reflect on the progress we’ve made towards gender equality and consider what more we can do to ensure that women have equal opportunities and access to education, childcare, healthcare, and equitable employment.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is about recognising that we need more than equal opportunities for women. People start from different places, so true inclusion requires organisations to allocate the exact resources and opportunities needed for everyone to reach an equal outcome. This is well understood at Charlie’s as we have a diverse workforce – culturally, socially, and in terms of sexual orientation – we recognise and celebrate this difference and we provide the support necessary for individuals to be their best selves at work regardless of their background.
I’m grateful to the women who show up every day and who make up 75% of Charlie’s workforce, from at least 10 different nations – here is a snapshot of some our wonderful women!
